In-vitro Release Study of (2-[(1-benzyl-4-piperidyl) methyl]-5,6- dimethoxy-2,3-dihydroinden-1-one) BPMDMDHI Included in the PVA Matrix

The study presents the evaluation of the controlled release kinetics for an active pharmaceutical substance BPMDMDHI–(2-[(1-benzyl-4-piperidyl) methyl]-5, 6-dimethoxy-2, 3-dihydroinden-1-one), physically incorporated in the PVA polymeric matrix and used under a patch form. The substance presents more polymorphic forms. Our study was made for two different polymorphs of BPMDMDHI (donepezil): A and B of various dimensions. The transdermic release of this active substance used for the treatment of the Alzheimer disease was carried out in order to choose the optimal release kinetics for each polymorph individually.
